Hey my loves,
This post is going to be slightly different in
that I am going to be reviewing a product which many of you many never have
heard of before. I, myself hadn't heard of Momiji nail varnishes until I was
gifted them last Christmas, by my boyfriends brother and sister in law.
Momiji Nail varnishes are a Marks ad Spencers
product, unfortunately -they are extremely hard to get hold of. As these were
gifted to me I was unsure on the price and decided to look on the M&S
website to find out more information on them for you, upon doing this I have
found that they are currently no longer available, this may be because
they are only a seasonal gift product which is available in the
Christmas season.
Nevertheless, I thought I would do this review
regardless just in case you can get a hold of this product.
Momiji nail varnishes are inspired by
friendship, adventure and little kindnesses and they aspire
to spread the love.
Momiji products, including the nail varnishes
have the leaping bunny logo, this shows that the product and it's ingredients
comply with cruelty free International's strict no animal testing
criteria.
In my gift set I had 4 nail varnishes, a pink,
a coral, a mint green and a deep purple. I am only going to be reviewing 3 of
these colours today as I have completely used the pink one
and no longer have the bottle.
The first colour I am going to be reviewing is
the deep purple, I love this product as the colour on the nail is exactly the
same as what you see in the bottle. The colour is a very deep purple and it
looks great on the nail.
The nail varnish itself does pick up quite a
lot of varnish on the brush, so you need to be sure to wipe off any access else
you'll just find yourself in a big purple mess! The quality of the brush itself
is very good and soft so you only need a couple swipes to fill the nail.
For this deep purple colour, I
would recommend just using one coat, as the colour pay out really is
great! If you're looking for a colour to make your outfit pop
this definitely is the one you're looking for.
The next colour which I am reviewing is the Mint
green colour, I am not usually a lover of mint green on my nails personally,
shock horror, I know! But this product has changed that for me, out of all 3
nail varnishes I think this one is my favourite.
Like the
deep purple, you only need to swipe the product over the nail a couple of times
before you have filled the whole nail. However, with this one I would
recommend doing an extra coat. The product does apply well with one coat, but
you are left with a few streaks so that extra coat will definitely make
the nail pop more.
This colour
is one which I am definitely going to be using this summer, it is the
perfect colour for the hot weather and looks lovely if you have a slight
tan too!
The only
down side to this colour over the others is that on my nails, it did chip
quicker than the other two and it didn't last as long, but 5 days is pretty
good going if you ask me!
And finally, the last colour I am going to be
reviewing is the coral colour. Like the other two the brush is very well made
so you only need to swipe over the nail a few times to cover the whole nail!
Well Done Momiji on finally giving us nail lovers a good applicator!
This colour can look good with just one coat,
however, in my opinion that extra coat really helps with the colour
payout.
This colour is a
very coral-orangey shade and is really in this summer season. If you are by the
pool or on the beach this colour is really going to make your nails stand out
and give you a pop of colour.
Like the mint green, this colour looks even
better if you are a little bronzed it really works well with a darker skin
tone.
Pros of
Momiji-
> Exact colour payout
> Good Applicator brush
> Cruelty free
> Lasts around 5-7 days on the nail
> Great Pigmentation
> Dries fast
Cons of
Momiji-
> Have to work quickly as it dries fast
> Needs more than one coat or looks a
little streaky
> Not easily available
I highly recommend buying Momiji nail
varnishes if you can get hold of them, they are one of my favourite nail
products of all time. Well done Momiji.
See you all soon.
